TSU, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Georgia Sign Memorandum of Cooperation

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Georgia Officesigned a Memorandum of Cooperation on July 20. The Memorandum was signed by George Sharvashidze, Rector of TSU, and IaTikanadze, head of FESGeorgia Office. 
The purpose of the Memorandum is to raise awareness among Georgian and foreign students about the Democratic Republic of Georgia (1918-1921), to plan and implement joint projects that will encourage students to study the model of building the Democratic Republic of Georgia (1918-1921) as an European socialist state of the early 20th century. 
Under the Memorandum, the parties will develop a joint project on the visit of European Socialist delegation to the Democratic Republic of Georgia in 1920. In the framework of the project, a quadrilingual (Georgian, German, French, English) book “Delegation of the Second Socialist International (European Socialists) to Georgia” will be published. 
The Library of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University will collect materials necessary for the book, process them and prepare for publication. 
This is the second joint project implemented by Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Georgia Office. In 2018, a Georgian translation of the book by Karl Kautsky “Georgia: A Social-Democratic Peasant Republic, Impressions and Observations” was published through collaboration between the parties.
